Stephen Garvey started his design career studying fashion communication for his foundation diploma at Central St. Martin's. This course gave him the skills to develop and convey his ideas through photography, film, graphic design and live shows.
Garvey joined the Arts University Bournemouth in June 2010. Specialising in menswear his projects varied in media from print to film while also developing a strong design identity during his three years of study.
Garvey's final major project consisted of a menswear collection entitled 'The Terrace' which was very well received at Graduate Fashion Week. The collection was selected to show in 'The best of Graduate Fashion Week' gala show. The event's main sponsor, George, approached Stephen to design a collection for their Graduate Fashion Week label. The collection was released in February 2015 and is the first menswear collection for the Graduate Fashion Week label. The range is currently available through the George at Asda online shop
Garvey takes influence from groups of people ranging from polar explorers to football fans, exploring the authenticity of clothing and emphasising the factors that cause garments to unify people.
